It’s been a while now that we wanted to do something that could help you and us to get in touch more easily.
We are not particularly fond of the idea of using the forum as our main mean to communicate with you.
We didn’t know how to include this kind of "public soapbox".
We decided to do it the simplest way we found: open this new section where your opinions on anything related
to the band, the music... could be exposed.
Please, send any words to agora@heatfromadeadstar.com

... about the first EP "Heat From a DeadStar".
A friend with similar tastes recommended this to me, so I took a chance, and I'm impressed! The EP is a brief taster
of what they're capable of -its not brilliantly recorded, the drum sound in particular being a bit flat, but there's no
doubt the band have potential. Its an intense instrumental rock with all three players going flat out, but with many
changes of pace and tone. Not exactly like anybody else, but on this outing I was reminded of Placebo, particularly
the track 'Her Warm Womb Room' which had a similar feel to Placebo's instrumental 'Bulletproof Cupid'. With a better
production and a greater length this could be great, which leads me onto the album..
... about "Lighten Our Minds".
The album, or maybe mini-album as it's not very long, is a step up from the EP both in recording quality and composition.
The drums in particular sound much crisper now, and the guitar sounds more varied. It's intense and involving from start
to finish, in fact the brevity of the tracks is surprising in itself - it must be tempting when playing all out as an instrumental
trio, to just carry on and jam, a trap which many other have fallen into. Here, each track leaves you gasping for more. I'm
struggling a litle to find apt comparisons - some of the RIO type bands on Cuneiform like Ahleuchatistas spring to mind,
but also the guitar sounds of the 80s from Comsat Angels are sometimes recalled. My favourite track 'Being less than Being'
is almost a dead ringer for Dif Juz, a much underrated early 80s instrumental band. The throbbing, dub type bass propels
the whole thing along with the drums following in pursuit and the guitar spewing out all manner of sounds both beautiful
and distorted. It sounds like the band is playing live in the studio -there are no obvious overdubs - so this should
translate into a great live performance. I look forward to seeing play if they venture north of London.

WEEKEND MUSIC SHOWCASE TOP 8 - published on myspace.
HEAT FROM A DEAD STAR: Superb instrumental post-rock, Heat from a Dead Star somehow manage to sound hard and
fast whilst maintaining warmth and depth. Keep an eye out for them as they start to establish a presence in the UK
with a string of live dates.

Heat From a DeadStar brings the most pure melodic rock music. The 6 songs on this CD offers you music with a lots of
twists in it so that a piece moves you from beginning till the end. With other words they just not hit their instruments
but they have skills to bring atmosphere in their songs.

You have quite a unique sound, I feel sure if John Peel were alive you'd be featured regularly on his show...

...the intro to Being Less Than Being reminds us of Mansun beffore turning into a bit of Pixies. And so on.
In other words, nice one.

great music, really like that you keep it simple as a trio but still manage to create something so interesting
and dynamic...

... about the song "Elusive Ways".
Dudes, that new song is dark as fuck. I love it. The intro is especially good... it's really brooding and menacing,
then the whole churning sea that hits later on... Awesomeness.

... about the song "Elusive Ways".
Elusive Ways is an ectoplasm whirlpool of seething and throbbing. This is probably the most intense expression of
uneasiness since the Cure recorded their '17 seconds' album.
